bldr by KoaWare offers the most easy-to-use website builder for real estate professionals, allowing you to build and launch your agent website instantly. Say goodbye to rigid templates, re-designs, and the constant back & forth between web developers; create, edit, and manage your website in real time, and on your schedule. Our mission is to provide you with the tools to craft your brand story, and create original content in the digital world. Launch your agent website tomorrow in five easy, brand-building steps.
Prep Work. Just as chefs have their “mise-en-place” when whipping up a five-star meal, you should have your content and imagery ready to go. Sitting down at your computer, and staring at a blank website can be daunting, so do your prep work ahead of time. Gather your mission statement, bio, and other relevant copy into a document, so you’re ready to copy & paste; collect recent listing content, community imagery, and stock photos to plug & play throughout your site. Quality, imagery is engaging and helps tell your story.
Branding. Whether you are creating your brand image from scratch, or part of a longstanding brokerage, it is essential to display your branding throughout every page of your website. bldr Agent Websites will uniformly display your logo on your nav bar, and footer throughout every page. Some users choose to put their own logo in one place, and their brokerage logo in the other.
From here, identify your brand colors and set your primary background and text colors, creating a uniform appearance between your theme and logos.
Use the same font and size within your text bodies throughout; any titles that you choose to color, ensure it is uniform where appropriate.
Build Out Your Front Page. You have 15 seconds to capture my attention, ready, set, go. If you’re still considering the bldr platform, check in with your existing site, and determine if it looks like it was around during the Seinfeld era; if you are already a bldr user, you’ve successfully avoided the “oh-my-gosh-did-I-time-travel-back-to-1998” website look that people “x” out of faster than a computer virus.
Your goal is to display creative, original content, with meaningful messaging that seeks to engage visitors. Be direct: tell us who you are, what you do, and why you’re different. Go heavy on the imagery – this means pretty pictures, people! – and storytelling content, i.e. video header, brand video, etc; be light on the copy, share your tagline, mission statement, and a standout point showcasing your expertise. Then, continue to craft your brand story through relevant sections, i.e. testimonials, featured listings, blog roll, etc.
The front page of your website should be direct, telling, and filled with vivid content that navigates visitors throughout your site, eager to learn more.
What Are You All About? Give visitors a rundown of your experience and expertise with an “About” page. We don’t need an autobiography, but give a compelling pitch surrounding your real estate history and results; round it off with a relatable, personal touch about who you are as a person outside of the real estate world.
#BlogSoHard. Lastly, before you launch your site, add more original content with an introductory blog post. Not only will this set the standard for a (strongly encouraged) weekly habit, but it will contribute to your organic reach, and database of quality, original content.
*Bonus: Make Them Stay. Search is not the reason people are going to your website, but once you’re vetted, it contributes to their reasons for staying, and exploring more. With engaging, compelling content, you aren’t just telling your visitors something, you’re inviting them in and showing them your story. Once they’re hooked, search functionality, and your MLS feeds will lead the way for continued explorations; show them your track record with recently sold feeds, highlight your featured listings, and give them an interactive map search.
If you don’t have any special listings or recently sold items you’d like to share, don’t fret! Add your two cents about standout properties, home decor, or community happenings to start the conversation.
* Search functionality & MLS feeds are included in our Agent Select package, available in MA & CA. Agent Pro offers all of our website building tools, without search or MLS integration.
