I recently started working with a 501c3 non-profit called Sunrise Day Camp. The campers are exclusively children with cancer and their siblings, who get to attend for free, thanks to the generous ongoing donations and partnerships with sponsors ranging from families and individuals to corporations.
Many children are currently undergoing treatment. It’s common to see many children in wheelchairs, and common for children to be bused in from local children’s hospitals to be able to feel as normal as possible while living in the hospital for extended periods.
Special underground cabling and equipment needs to be installed, in order to connect two vital buildings on campus and provide usable strong WiFi campus-wide. This wifi is needed for medical personnel to access medical records and take vitals on tablets, so that the kids don’t have to stop their activities to retreat to a cold office for exams. This seemingly small action, would snatch them from their worry-free, fun-loving camp atmosphere, that so many healthy children are privileged to enjoy without a second thought.
As the Chief Technology Officer of Liincs.org, a 501c3 non-profit comprised of environmentally and socially active bipartisan Long Island young professionals empowering the bright future of Long Island, I have decided to volunteer my personal time to see this project through- but we need your help.
We will be holding a modest fundraiser on August, 20th in Kings Point, NY. I hope to count on your contribution and/or attendance, as well as helping get the word out, for a cause that we can all get behind. Can’t attend, show your support on our GoFundMe page – any little bit helps!
Thank you very much for lending your time, your eyes, and your heart today.
Oh my my, this Mallorcan home has visited you in your dreams.
